From April 2008 Exporting to Europe LibanCert Certified Organic Products

LibanCert, the Lebanese Certification Body founded on November 2005 had been working for the last two years on developing a certification system compatible with international standards for bodies operating product certification described under the international setting organization as ISO 65 (equivalent to EN 45011 mentioned in the European Regulation for organic agriculture EEC 2092/91 Article 9). ISO 65 Accreditation is the main prerequisite for inspection and certification bodies issuing certificate inorganic farming on the basis of internationally recognized organic regulations such as European regulation for organic agriculture EEC 2092/91. LibanCert applied for IOAS the International Organization for Accreditation Systems for accreditations to ISO/ISEC Guide 65 on July 2007, The IOAS is a non profit organization recognized by the US National Institute of Standards and technology under NVCASE Programme - Organic production and processing with the scope IFOAM (International Foundation for Organic Agriculture Movement) Norms.
The Outcome of the inspection visit for accreditation done on January 2008 were promising for a soon accreditation of the company which from April 2008 will be considered on the level of operating on the basis of international standards for certifying organic products for Local and Export markets. LibanCert is now listed on IOAS website (www.ioas.org) in the current list of applicant bodies for accreditation against ISO/IEC 65.
