Cedar Excellence Seal - New Seal for High Valued Lebanese Products

Cedar Excellence Seal-New Quality Seal for High Valued Lebanese Products
The PMCA, The Participatory Market Chain Approach, project was launched in 2010 with the support of the Swiss Economic secretary SECO and FiBL (Swiss organic research center) to help in creating a trust in quality between the Lebanese market chain actors (producers, processors, packagers, traders, certifiers etc..). The project worked with 2 different thematic groups:
-The “Cedar Excellence” Group: worked on developing Standard for High Quality Lebanese Product and creating a Seal “Cedar Excellence Seal” for High Quality Products. (See picture on the left).
-The “Organic” Group: worked on creating awareness for organic products in Lebanon, through the elaboration of Organic Calendar, Organic Mugs and Posters.
The Elaborated CES (Cedar Excellence SEAL) standards were launched for adoption by end of 2010 and LibanCert (Quacerta) won the bid and is currently offering the service for inspection and certification for the CES Seal on fresh unprocessed and processed products and wild collected plants.
The CES Certification could be given to operators dealing with fresh product producer, processed product processor and collected wild plants and complying with the CES standards. Operators and enterprises interested in the CES SEAL would have to apply for the CES certification by contacting LibanCert (Quacerta) directly or through the website www.libancert.com.
