Release of the first list of the recognized Certification bodies by the EU commission

LibanCert, the First Lebanese Organic inspection and certification body, on the list of European Union recognized Organic inspection and certification bodies operating in Third countries

On December 6th, 2011 the European Commission published the first list of control bodies recognized as implementing equivalent organic standards and control measures in third countries. The list is published as implementing regulation (EU) 1267/2011 which amends previous regulation 1235/2008. The list of equivalent control bodies is entered into Annex IV of the latter regulation. (http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2011:324:0009:0022:EN:PDF)The list includes 30 control bodies from around the world; LibanCert is listed with operating codes in Lebanon, Jordan and Syria respectively as LB-BIO-114, JO-BIO-114 and SY-BIO-114. By being listed LibanCert / Quacerta certified operators will be able to export their products into the EU countries without export certificate starting from the 1st of July 2012.

It is a limited liability company, registered in the Lebanese Government under the no. 100 50 49.

Our Services

Since 2008,  LibanCert / Quacerta SARL  is accredited ISO65 by IOAS (The International Organic Accreditation Services Inc) for the scope of Equivalent European Union Organic Production and Processing Standard for Third Countries (Equivalent to EC 834/2007 and EC 889/2008) and for Lebanese Norms NL 724:2003.

Inspection and certification services for Organic Farming are done in relation to:

  • Equivalent Standards to European Union Organic Production and processing for Third Countries (Equivalent to EC 834/2007 and EC 889/2008)

LibanCert is also able to provide operators a range of certifications recognized worldwide to its collaboration with an internationally Swiss Accredited certification Body bio.inspecta AG.

Collaborations

LibanCert collaborates with FIBL the Swisss Organic Agriculture Research institute for consultancy services and with an internationally accredited Swiss Organic Certification Body, Bio Inspecta for re-certification services until it is Internationally accredited.
LibanCert is economically supported by SECO the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, for the first five years operations till it becomes self sustainable.
